Patients are seen in the surgery by appointment. If you feel that you need to see a doctor urgently, any information that you can give helps the receptionists and doctor to assess how best to arrange this.
Although we try to give appointments with the doctor of your choice, this may not always be possible if you need to be seen quickly.
Patients with mobile phone numbers recorded on our computer system will receive a text message prior to their appointment as a reminder as well as invitations to attend for health services. Please ensure the Surgery is advised of your mobile number.
Extended Hours Surgery
There are late evenings session on Mondays between 6.30 - 8.00pm (last appointment at 7.50pm). This clinic is by appointment only and particularly to help those patients who work during routine surgery opening hours. In case of Monday being a Bank holiday, this service is provided on next working day,i.e. Tuesday.
Keep it or cancel it – but don’t forget it!
If you are unable to keep your appointment please let us know as soon as possible so that it may be given to someone else.
Telephone consultations can be booked to speak to a doctor. Evidence has shown that not all patients need to see a doctor face-to-face. In light of this, when you call for a same-day appointment, the receptionist will probably ask if you feel your problem can be dealt with over the telephone. They will then arrange a time for you to call back. This will not replace the normal appointment booking system; it will be offered as an additional service. If you are not sure, then book an appointment in the normal way.
