Home visits are for those patients who are housebound or who are too ill to come to the surgery. If you are uncertain whether you need a visit, the doctor on call will be happy to advise you on the phone.
If you are too ill to come to the surgery, please telephone between 8.30am and 10.30am. Children can nearly always be wrapped up and brought to the surgery where there are better facilities for diagnosis and treatment. Patients without cars should seek the help of members of the family, friends or neighbours.
The receptionist will ask for details of your symptoms to allow the doctor to assess your needs. Note that all requests for home visits made after 6.30pm should be made through the out-of-hours service (NHS 111).
